- How does a Cargobat work ?
The steel frame either bolts or clamps
to the bedrail of a truck. Then the aluminum tray hinges
in the front and latches in the rear giving access to
the stored cargo.
- How much storage will I get?
You can expect to get at least 8 inches
and as much as 20 inches. Depending on the adjustment
settings you have the legs set at and the type of canopy
you have. The full size models are adjustable
from 12” to 18” above the bedrails and the compacts from 8” to 14” above the bedrails.
- How much weight will the Cargobat hold and how do I
lift it ?
The system is engineered to hold up to
300 pounds. Attached to the tray and the frame there are
(2) 70 lb. compression shocks that assist in the cargo
lift. The shocks exert about an additional 30 pounds at
the rear. If you find that you would like more
assistance from the shocks we offer a Free Shock
Upgrade to 90 lb. shocks.
How do I load and unload my cargo?
You simply turn the handle in the back
and the latch mechanism retracts 2 stainless steel rods,
then the tray opens about 16 inches. A “Grabber Bar” is
provided to assist with moving cargo from front to rear
so you should never have to crawl inside the truck to
access your cargo. To close simply push up evenly on the
tray and the latch will automatically lock the tray in
the secure position.
